Substance Abuse/Domestic Violence Treatment and Therapy Program

Helpful Information About TBI’s

My name is Charles E. Roberts, MSW/CSW and I am a Clinical Social Worker.

We have developed a Substance Abuse/Domestic Violence Treatment and Therapy program which seeks to reduce domestic violence and/or substance abuse in individuals and the family through a protocol which involves the family as well as the perpetrator.

Substance Abuse, Domestic Violence and Verbal Abuse are linked and treated together as well because they are inexorably intertwined.

The protocol is designed to work with victims, perpetrators and significant others such as spouses, parents, children and extended family.

The protocol allows the perpetrators to see themselves through their own eyes as well as the eyes of their significant others.

Significant others, spouses, parents, children or victims also get a better handle on the violence and substance abuse process and begin a healing process.

Differing from the general 12 step or insight programs, the protocol is based on monitoring a set of concrete behaviors which is called The Behavior Rating Scale.

The client and a significant other BOTH rate client behaviors on the scale.
The scaled responses are compared and become the topics for counseling and treatment.

  • Solutions oriented psycho-therapy responds in a concrete fashion to the scaled items identified as problematic.
  • Social, vocational and relationships skills are developed and reinforced.
  • Teaching new thought processes and appropriate behaviors are implemented.
  • Re-evaluation on The Behavior Rating Scale is the basis for marking progress.

Therapy can take place in any venue arranged by the participants; our offices, the home, physicians or attorney offices, institutions or the work-site are possible locations.

Fees can be paid by insurance, contract or self-pay.

Intake is simple. Please call 800-401-2724 or 810-776-1414 and we will assist with questions and/or intake information.
